SEZ & EOU Advisory Overview

Evaluate the scheme on operational economics, not incentives alone.

SEZ and EOU frameworks can support export-oriented operations but require approvals, bonded controls, positive net foreign exchange performance and continuing coordination with Development Commissioner and Customs authorities.

Feasibility & Scheme Selection

Compare SEZ, EOU and domestic alternatives across location, activity, imports, exports and compliance.

Setup & Approval

Support unit application, Letter of Approval, premises, bonding and registrations.

Operating Compliance

Track authorised operations, duty-free goods, NFE, returns, DTA and inter-unit transactions.

Expansion, Exit & Debonding

Coordinate amendments, transfer, exit, duty assessment and record closure.

Strategic Perspective

A successful SEZ or EOU operates through disciplined customs, inventory and foreign-exchange records from day one.

We map physical and digital movement of goods and services to the approved operations.

Procurement, consumption, exports, DTA supplies and NFE calculations are reconciled.

The cost of controls, premises and exit is included in the initial feasibility decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common sez & eou advisory questions.

What is the difference between an SEZ unit and an EOU?
Both support export-oriented operations, but they operate under different legal, location and administrative frameworks. Feasibility depends on the activity and supply chain.
What is positive NFE?
It is the required positive net foreign exchange performance calculated under the applicable scheme over the prescribed period.
Can SEZ or EOU units sell in the Domestic Tariff Area?
Permitted DTA transactions are subject to scheme conditions, duties, taxes and procedures.
Can capital goods and inputs be procured duty free?
Eligible goods for approved operations may receive specified benefits, subject to customs control, use and recordkeeping.
Are QCO exemptions available?
Current FTP provisions contain specific conditional treatment for certain inputs used for export production; product and transaction conditions must be checked.
What is debonding or exit?
It is the process of leaving the scheme after meeting obligations and settling applicable duties, approvals and record closures.
